SCIENTISTS - SEDITION (2007)

This is the "Scientists" new album "Sedition", recorded live at Shepherds Bush Empire in London May 2006. Listening to this you would think that the old fellas have released a "best off". Starting with "Swampland", they plough through a number of Scientists stand-out numbers, although "She Had Love" is missing. This recording gives you an idea of the Scientists live assault, this is live music as it should be heard. The version I purchased of this album is a heavy-duty plastic case, rounded around the sides, and annoyingly hard to open. The package is minus a full sized front cover (as above), instead it's a small book with memories and praise of the mighty Scientists written by Gareth Liddiard (The Drones), Warren Ellis (Dirty Three), Henry Rollins, Jon Spencer & Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth). These notes give you some indication of the many great artists inspired by this dirty Perth born band. If you like this album buy it, the cover and booklet are really cool and (as you could know shortly) it sounds fantastic and the dick head that I am; they played a few weeks ago and I didn't go because I was tired, I'm getting old people, and grumpy. This show was part of the Dirty Three's All Tomorrows Parties and I think the Scientists are playing this years ATP which is orchestrated by Mudhoney. Pass: aNp
